Neve 3.0 Core Design

Thank you for using Neve. We're glad to have you on board!

By updating the theme to version 3.0,  new features will be available on your website. In this guide, we'll cover the most significant changes that can be automatically applied due to your confirmation.

📝Note: Starting with Neve 3.5.5, the legacy skin will be entirely removed.

What will change?

By default, nothing. After updating the theme, you need to confirm if you'd like to start using the new header/footer builder. Once agreed, your current setup will be migrated to the new Header/Builder interface. Alongside it, you can also start using the new core design of the theme. More details are available in the following chapters.

In case you don't see the above note, please make sure that you updated both the Neve theme and the Neve Pro plugin to the latest version. Older versions of the Neve Pro plugin won't be compatible with the Neve 3.0 theme.

What's different than before?

The Header Footer Builder and the Core Design of the theme.

With a fresh interface and more options, the new builder is ready to be used and hopefully, it's more intuitive than its previous version. By confirming that you'd like to start using it, no change should appear on the front-end of your website, however, to make sure something unexpected gets published we recommend checking the website front-end first. After that, you can explore the new options with the help of the following guides

If you are not sure that you want to continue with the new Header Footer Builder, it's possible to roll back to the previous one from the Customizer.

Please note that by dismissing the Customizer notice about the Header Builder it won't be possible to roll back to the previous builder anymore.

The core design of the theme.

Also called the theme skin, this will bring a new Customizer interface once you accept using the new Header Builder. Starting with the new skin, some changes will be automatically applied on the front-end of your website. That's why, we recommend checking your website's front-end and in case something doesn't look as expected, you can roll back to the previous core design of the theme from the Customizer. Switching between the theme skins is possible all the time, except for the Neve 3.0 skin that's not compatible with the old Header Footer builder.

In case you don't see the Style panel in the Customizer, please make sure that you updated both the Neve theme and the Neve Pro plugin to the latest version. Older versions of the Neve Pro plugin won't be compatible with the Neve 3.0 theme.
