Troubleshooting: Hestia Pro Installation Fails with "The theme does not have a style.css file"

If WordPress shows the error "The archive could not be installed. The theme does not have a style.css file." after uploading the Hestia Pro archive, it means WordPress received a file that is not a valid theme package. This is almost always caused by uploading an extracted folder, a re-compressed archive with extra wrapping folders, or the wrong file — not a problem with Hestia Pro itself.

How to fix it

1. Log in to your ThemeIsle account and download hestia-pro.zip.
2. Upload that file directly — do not extract or unzip it first.
3. Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme, select the hestia-pro.zip file, and click Install Now.

The correct archive contains the hestia-pro theme folder (with style.css at its top level) directly inside the ZIP — it must not be wrapped in any extra parent folder.

⚠️ macOS and browser auto-unzip: Some browsers (especially Safari on macOS) automatically extract ZIP files after downloading. If the downloaded file appears as a folder rather than a .zip file, you need to compress it again before uploading, or change your browser settings to stop auto-extracting archives and re-download the file.
