Assigning Authors to Imported Posts in Feedzy Pro

📝 Note: The Post Author Selection feature is available in the Feedzy Pro version. Upgrade to access advanced functionality.

📖 Overview

The Post Author Selection feature in Feedzy Pro allows you to assign a specific author to the posts imported from RSS feeds. By default, the posts are assigned to the current username who is creating the import, but with this feature, you can select any existing user (we populate up to 100 usernames) or type in the existing username if it is not populated.

🛠️ Using the Feature

1
Go to your Feedzy Import Job settings and click on Map Content.
2
Navigate to the Advanced Options tab.
3
Locate the Post Author field.
4
Select a user from the dropdown menu or type in the exact existing username if it is not populated.

⚠️ Important: The toggles Save it in Backend and Save it in Frontend are independent options. These settings override the default WordPress author with the author provided in the RSS feed. Ensure you configure them appropriately based on whether you want the author information to appear in the WordPress Dashboard (Backend) or on your site's front-end.

💡 Use Cases

  • 🧑💻 Multiple Authors: Assign imported posts to specific authors for better content attribution.
  • 📝 Editorial Control: Ensure posts are associated with the correct team member or author name.

❓ FAQs

Q: Can I select multiple authors for one import job?
A: No, you can assign only one author per import job. However, to have multiple authors per feed you can follow this method: Doc
Q: Why I don't see the author in the list populated?
A: If the author you want to pick is not populated it either means that there is no such username in your WordPress website or you have more than 100 usernames and it is not populated. You can manually type in the existing WordPress username and it will be saved (it should be an exact match as if there is a typo it won't be saved and will fallback to main username who created the import).
Q: Can I edit the author settings after the import job is created?
A: Yes, you can edit the import job and update the author selection at any time.
