MPG Template cannot be edited or viewed - gives 404 error

Your project's template page stays reachable at its own URL even when it is hidden from your site's content. The Hide this template from search engines and your site content option keeps the template out of search results, archives, and listing widgets such as Recent Posts, and asks search engines not to index it. It does not block the template's own URL, so you can still open the template and edit it with your page builder on the front end.

If the template URL returns a 404 error, work through these steps:

  1. Update MPG to the latest version.
  2. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes to rebuild your site's URL rules.
  3. Clear your page cache, plus any server or CDN cache.
  4. Go to Pages (or the post type your template uses) and confirm the template has not been deleted or moved to the Trash.

📝 Note: You do not need to turn off Hide this template from search engines and your site content to reach your template. Leave it enabled so the template stays out of search results and site listings while you troubleshoot.
