Orbit Fox - Settings Reference
Orbit Fox Companion is a modular WordPress plugin that adds social sharing, cookie notices, custom login pages, progress bars, header/footer scripts, and other features to your site. You find all settings under the Orbit Fox menu item in the WordPress admin sidebar.
Orbit Fox Dashboard
The main Orbit Fox page displays a card for each available module. Every module has a toggle switch to enable or disable it. Some modules also have a settings panel (opened by clicking the card) and an action button that links to a separate configuration screen.
Modules that depend on a third-party plugin or a specific theme only appear when that dependency is active.
Social Sharing Module
Display On
A row of checkboxes that controls which post types show the sharing bar. You see Posts (checked by default), Pages (unchecked by default), and one checkbox for every public custom post type registered on your site. When you add WooCommerce products or a custom post type, a new checkbox appears automatically. The sharing bar never appears on WooCommerce cart or checkout pages regardless of these settings.
Desktop Position
A set of radio buttons that determines where the sharing icons appear on desktop screens. The choices are Left (default) and Right, which pin a vertical bar to that side of the viewport. If your site uses the Hestia theme, a third option called Inline after content appears, which places the icons horizontally below the post content instead.
Mobile Position
Radio buttons that control the sharing bar placement on mobile devices. Same as desktop follows whatever you chose for the desktop position. Pinned to bottom fixes the icons to the bottom edge of the screen, which keeps them visible while scrolling on phones.
Show name
A toggle that, when enabled, reveals the network name (for example "Facebook" or "LinkedIn") on hover. Useful if you worry that visitors will not recognize an icon on its own. Disabled by default.
Networks
A list of 20 social networks, each with three controls on a single row: a toggle to enable the network, a desktop checkbox, and a mobile checkbox. The desktop and mobile checkboxes let you show a network on one device class but hide it on the other. Facebook is enabled by default; all others are disabled.
The available networks are: Facebook, X (Twitter), Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Reddit, WhatsApp, Email, SMS, VKontakte, OK.ru, Douban, Baidu, Xing, RenRen, Weibo, Telegram, Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads.
Analytics Integration (Retired Module - No Longer Available)
This module requires you to authenticate with Google before any tracking settings appear.
When the module is first enabled, the only control is an Authenticate with Google button. Clicking it redirects you to the Orbit Fox analytics bridge, where you sign in with your Google account and grant permission to read your Analytics properties.
Tracking code
After authentication, a dropdown appears listing all Google Analytics tracking codes associated with your account. Each entry shows the account name followed by the tracking code identifier. Select one to embed the Google Analytics global site tag (gtag.js) into the head of every page on your site.
Unregister Site
A link button that disconnects your site from the Orbit Fox analytics bridge. Clicking it removes the stored authentication token and tracking code list. You would use this if you want to switch Google accounts or stop analytics tracking through Orbit Fox entirely.
Cookie Notice
Enable Cookie Notice
A toggle that activates the notice bar on the front end of your site. The remaining settings in this module only take effect when this toggle is on. Disabled by default.
Policy description
A text field for the message visitors see inside the cookie bar. The default text reads: "This website uses cookies to improve your experience. We'll assume you accept this policy as long as you are using this website." You can replace this with any wording that matches your privacy requirements.
Policy Page
A dropdown listing all pages on your site (including drafts), plus a "Default Core Policy" option at the top. If you select Default Core Policy, the notice links to whatever page WordPress has set under Settings > Privacy. If that core setting is empty, it shows "(Not Set)" next to the option. Selecting a specific page overrides the core privacy policy setting, and the two stay in sync: changing one updates the other.
Policy Button Label
A text field for the label of the link that takes visitors to your policy page. Defaults to "View Policy." Leave it empty to hide the link button entirely and show only the accept button.
Accept Cookie Button Label
A text field for the label of the button visitors click to accept cookies. Defaults to "Accept." Once a visitor clicks this button, a cookie called obfx-policy-consent is stored for 365 days and the notice bar does not appear again for that visitor.
Header Footer Scripts
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard itself. Instead, it provides settings in two places:
Global scripts are managed in the WordPress Customizer. Click the Add Global Scripts button on the module card, or navigate to Appearance > Customize > Header/Footer scripts.
Per-post scripts are managed via a "Scripts" meta box that appears on every post and page edit screen. Only users with the unfiltered_html capability (typically Administrators and Super Admins) can see and edit these fields. On multisite installations where this capability is restricted, the meta box and its saved data are completely hidden.
Header scripts (Customizer)
A textarea where you paste code that should appear immediately before the closing </head> tag in every page's source. Commonly used for analytics snippets, meta verification tags, or external stylesheet links. The code applies sitewide.
Footer scripts (Customizer)
A textarea where you paste code that should appear immediately before the closing </body> tag in every page's source. Commonly used for tracking pixels, chat widgets, or deferred JavaScript. The code applies sitewide.
Header scripts (per-post)
A textarea on individual post and page edit screens. Code entered here outputs before the closing </head> tag only on that specific post or page, after the sitewide header scripts. On WooCommerce sites, the Shop page's per-post scripts also apply to the main shop archive.
Footer scripts (per-post)
A textarea on individual post and page edit screens. Code entered here outputs before the closing </body> tag only on that specific post or page, after the sitewide footer scripts. On WooCommerce sites, the Shop page's per-post scripts also apply to the main shop archive.
Reading Progress Bar
Display on
A row of checkboxes listing every public post type on your site. Posts is checked by default; all others are unchecked. The progress bar only appears on singular views (single posts and pages), never on archives or index pages. It is automatically hidden on WooCommerce cart and checkout pages.
Position
Radio buttons offering four choices: Top (default), Bottom, Right, and Left. Top and Bottom produce a horizontal bar spanning the full width of the viewport. Right and Left produce a vertical bar spanning the full height. When set to Top and the WordPress admin bar is visible, the progress bar renders above the admin bar so it is not hidden behind it.
Display / Show on mobile
A toggle that controls whether the progress bar appears on screens narrower than 768 pixels. Enabled by default. Disable it if the bar feels distracting on small screens.
Desktop Size (px)
A number field that sets the thickness of the progress bar on desktop, in pixels. The default is 4. For horizontal positions this is the bar height; for vertical positions this is the bar width.
Mobile Size (px)
A number field that sets the thickness of the progress bar on mobile, in pixels. The default is 2. This value only applies when "Show on mobile" is enabled.
Color
A color picker that sets the fill color of the progress bar. The default is #6366f1 (an indigo shade). Choose a color that contrasts well with your site's background.
Menu Icons
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard. Instead it adds an icon picker to each menu item in Appearance > Menus. Click the Configure Menu Icons button on the module card to go there.
When you expand any menu item in the WordPress menu editor, you see a new icon selector field. It offers Dashicons (the built-in WordPress icon set) and Font Awesome icons. Selecting an icon prepends it to the menu item's title on the front end.
If another theme or plugin already provides a custom menu walker (the code responsible for rendering the menu editor), this module detects the conflict and displays a warning message on the module card. In that situation the icon picker may not function correctly. The module also warns if your theme uses Full Site Editing and does not support traditional navigation menus.
Mystock Import
This module has no settings. When enabled, it adds a MyStock Library tab to the WordPress Media Library modal (the popup that appears when you click "Add Media" or set a featured image). That tab displays free CC0-licensed stock photos from mystock.photos. You can search, browse, and import images directly into your media library. In the block editor, it appears as a sidebar plugin panel instead of a media tab.
Custom Fonts
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard. Click the Upload Fonts button on the module card to open the custom font manager, which uses a WordPress taxonomy interface.
On the font management screen, you add a new font by giving it a name and uploading font files. Supported formats are TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2, and EOT. After a font is uploaded, it becomes available in the font selectors of the Neve theme customizer, Elementor, and Beaver Builder. Enabling this module requires a page refresh.
Disable Comments
This module has no settings beyond its enable/disable toggle. When enabled, it acts as a global kill switch for all comment functionality across your site. It closes comments on every post type, removes the Comments menu and Discussion settings page from the admin, hides the comments icon in the admin bar, removes the Recent Comments widget, removes all comment-related blocks from the block editor, and returns zero for comment counts everywhere. Disabling the module restores normal comment behavior.
SVG Support
This module has no settings beyond its enable/disable toggle. When enabled, it allows SVG and SVGZ file uploads through the WordPress media uploader. Every uploaded SVG is automatically sanitized to remove potentially malicious code such as embedded scripts or external entity references. The module also ensures SVGs display correctly in the media library with proper dimensions.
A warning notice appears on the module card: "Only enable this if you trust all users who can upload files to your site. SVG files can contain malicious code if not properly sanitized." Consider this carefully on multisite installations or sites with multiple Authors or Editors who have upload permissions.
Post Duplicator
This module has no settings beyond its enable/disable toggle. When enabled, it adds a Clone link to the row actions of every post, page, and custom post type in the WordPress admin list tables. Clicking Clone creates a new draft that copies the title (with " - Copy" appended), content, excerpt, custom fields, taxonomies, and featured image from the original. The duplicate opens immediately in the editor. Only users who have permission to edit the original post see the Clone link.
Template Directory Module
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard. Click the Open Template Directory button to open a page that guides you through installing the Neve theme and the Templates Cloud plugin. Both must be active to browse and import starter site templates. The module adds a Template Directory submenu item under the Orbit Fox menu. Enabling this module requires a page refresh.
Elementor Widgets
This module only appears when the Elementor plugin is active.
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard. When enabled, it registers a set of additional widgets in the Elementor editor under an "Orbit Fox Widgets" category. These include content forms (contact, newsletter, and registration forms) and various extra widgets.
If your site uses the Neve theme without a valid Neve PRO license, the module description includes a notice about 10+ additional Elementor and Gutenberg widgets available in Neve PRO, and a placeholder "Pro Widgets" category appears in the Elementor editor panel linking to the upgrade page.
Beaver Builder Widgets
This module only appears when the Beaver Builder plugin (Lite or Pro) is active.
This module has no settings on the Orbit Fox dashboard. When enabled, it registers three widget modules inside the Beaver Builder editor: Pricing Table, Services, and Post Grid. It also loads the content forms library (contact, newsletter, and registration forms) for use in Beaver Builder layouts.
Companion Legacy
This module only appears when your active theme is Zerif Lite, Hestia, Hestia Pro, or Shop Isle.
This module has no settings. It automatically loads frontpage enhancements, custom widgets, and compatibility features specific to your active Themeisle theme. The module name and description change to reflect the detected theme (for example, "Hestia enhancements"). It is enabled by default when a supported theme is active.
Login Page Customizer (Customizer)
This module is configured entirely in the WordPress Customizer. Click the Customize Login Page button on the module card, or navigate to Appearance > Customize > Login Customizer. The customizer preview shows a live rendering of your login page as you adjust settings.
