Getting Started with Social Slider Feed

Social Slider Feed (formerly Instagram Slider Widget) lets you display Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube feeds on your WordPress site. You can show feeds as a responsive slider, grid, or masonry layout using a widget or shortcode.

📝 Note: Starting with version 2.3.2, all features that were previously exclusive to the PRO version are now available for free. You no longer need a paid license to access any display or customization features.

Installing the Plugin

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. Search for Social Slider Feed.
  3. Click Install Now, then click Activate.

Alternatively, you can download the plugin from WordPress.org and upload the .zip file via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

Creating Your First Feed

After activating the plugin, a new Social Slider Feed menu item appears in your WordPress dashboard.

  1. Navigate to Social Slider Feed in the dashboard menu.
  2. Click Add New Feed to create a feed.
  3. Connect your social media account (see Connecting Your Instagram Business Account for Instagram setup).
  4. Choose your preferred layout — slider, grid, or masonry.
  5. Adjust display settings such as the number of posts, image size, and spacing.
  6. Click Save.

Displaying a Feed on Your Site

Once you have created a feed, you can display it anywhere on your site using a widget or a shortcode.

Using a Widget

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets.
  2. Find the Social Slider Feed widget and drag it into your desired widget area.
  3. Select the feed you want to display and click Save.

Using a Shortcode

Each feed has a unique shortcode. To find it:

  1. Go to Social Slider Feed in the dashboard.
  2. Open the feed you want to use.
  3. Copy the shortcode shown (for example, [instagram-feed id="1"]).
  4. Paste the shortcode into any post, page, or widget that supports shortcodes.

💡 Tip: You can also use the Social Slider Feed block in the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) to insert a feed directly into a page or post.
