Getting Started with Disable Comments

Disable Comments is a WordPress plugin that lets you globally disable comments on your entire site or on specific post types. Unlike the built-in WordPress comment settings that only apply to new posts, this plugin disables comments everywhere — including existing posts.

What is Disable Comments?

Disable Comments gives you full control over comments on your WordPress site. Whether you want to turn off comments entirely or just on certain post types, this plugin makes it simple with a few clicks.

The plugin also includes tools to bulk delete comments from your database and settings to improve your site's SEO by managing external links in comments.

Key Features

  • Disable comments globally — Turn off comments across your entire website with one setting.
  • Disable by post type — Choose specific post types (posts, pages, attachments, or custom types) where comments should be disabled.
  • Bulk delete comments — Remove all comments, spam, unapproved, or trashed comments from your database in one click.
  • SEO-friendly comment links — Replace external links in comments and author links with JavaScript-based alternatives to protect your site's SEO.
  • Remove website field — Remove the "Website" URL field from comment forms to reduce spam.
