How domains are counted by our license checking system

Each WordPress instance where you activate our products counts as one domain in our license-checking system. This includes:

  • Standard WordPress installations on unique domains (e.g. example.com )
  • Subdomains (e.g. staging.example.com , dev.example.com )
  • Subdirectories (e.g. example.com/test-site )

Even if a site is used for staging, testing, or development purposes, it is still treated as a separate instance and will count toward your license limit.

Recommendation

If you plan to use our product on both your live and staging/development sites, please ensure your license includes enough activations to cover all intended environments.

If you no longer need the license to be active on a certain domain (for example, you’ve completed testing on a staging site), you can easily change where your license key is active. Just follow the steps in this guide: How to manage your website licenses.
