Fallback Image in Feedzy RSS Feeds

When the original feed posts lack a featured image, fallback images can be employed. In this way, you can ensure consistency across your website by using a predefined images for such cases.

π Individual Import Fallback Images
As its name suggests, the individual import fallback images can be set during the imports. Choosing specific fallback images for different imports, instead of using one image for all, is helpful when you want each import to have its own special illustrations. This way, you can customize the visuals to match the content, making the experience more personal and fitting for users. It's handy when you want to keep your brand style consistent but also highlight specific posts with unique images.

Navigate to Feedzy > Import Posts.

Create/edit an import job.

During the import, open the General Feed Settings area.

Search for the Fallback Image field and insert a characteristic image or multiple images for the feed topic.
In this example, we set 5 images that will be randomly used during the import and assigned to each post each time when the import is run.

Save the import and check the results.

As you can see above, posts from the import where we set an individual fallback images were used and assigned to each import when there is no image in the RSS XML Feed for that item.
π Global Fallback Image
Similarly, the global fallback image will appear when the posts don't have a featured image. In this case, the global fallback image will be applied for all imports, so no matter the feed topic, the same image will appear.
π Note: If you also set an individual fallback image, it has priority over the global one.
