πŸ“Note: More features such as shop options are available in Hestia Pro, which you can get from here.

Site Identity

Hestia comes with a navigation menu with two different variations: a transparent state (on the front page, before scrolling) and a solid background style (on the front page, after scrolling, and on internal pages). This is why, in some cases, the Logo image you are using may not be very suited for both menu variations.

For those cases, you can use  different logos for the Logo and Transparent Header Logo options.

  • Display - only logo/ logo with right text/ logo with left text/ logo with bottom text.
  • Logo - suggested image dimensions: 150 by 100 pixels.
  • Transparent Header Logo - displays only when the header is transparent. To make the header transparent, navigate to Customizer > Header Options > Navigation and enable the Transparent Navbar. Check this doc about adding a second logo.
  • Site Title - insert the name of the website or leave it empty. If you need to change the font size of the title, check this doc.
  • Tagline - a short phrase, or sentence, used to convey the essence of the site. In Hestia, the tagline is also used as a title for the latest posts page (if in Reading > Settings, you have selected the "Your latest posts" option).
  • Site Icon - also called a favicon, it appears in the browser tab.

Standard Header

Transparent Header

πŸ“ Note: For changing the site title and hamburger menu color on mobile, please refer to this doc.

Header Options

Here are the options for customizing the header area. There are three subpanels:

The Very Top Bar is the  highest-positioned section on the site, just above the navigation area. You can disable the section, configure the Very Top Bar menu and insert widgets

πŸ“ Note: Hestia Pro allows you to set a distinct layout for the very top bar. Also, it has a second panel called Appearance Settings, which allows you to adjust the background, text, link, and link on hover colors.

πŸ“ Note: Read more about configuring the Very Top Bar and examples here.

The Navigation area is formed by the Logo or Site Title, the Primary Menu, and the Navigation widget area. From this place, you can make the navbar transparent, enable the search, which will generate a search icon in the menu, change the layout, and add widgets.

πŸ“ Note: In the PRO version you can enable the full-screen menu, or enable the menu Mini Cart and customize its icon (if you have WooCommerce installed).

πŸ“Note: If you want to make the navigation static, check this doc.

Header Settings

Inside the header settings, you can access layouts for posts/pages and products. Another option is to add a header image, to enable it sitewide or use a header background if no image is set. When you enable the header sitewide, the image that you use as a header will be displayed for posts/pages (regardless of the featured image) and on products.

πŸ“Note: Check this doc that presents Hestia posts/page layouts.

 Footer Options

This panel displays information about the branding label, which can be customized with the pro version.
