How to Generate an OpenAI API key?

Otter has introduced AI-based blocks that work with the OpenAI API key. This article helps you find and use the API key in the Otter Blocks.

🔐 Generating the API key

📝 Note: If you don't already have an OpenAI account, use this link to create one.

First, log in to the API keys platform using this link.

On the API keys page, click on Create new secret key.

Insert a suitable name, then click on the Create secret key button.

From the new modal, copy the API key and click on Done.

🔗 Integration with Otter Blocks

After copying the API key, go to your WordPress dashboard.

Navigate to Otter Blocks > Settings.

Switch to the Integrations tab and scroll down to Open AI.

Expand the accordion and paste the secret key.

Click on Save and go use the AI blocks.

💰 Pricing

An important thing that you should keep in mind is that OpenAI has some pricing options depending on the API usage. This part is independent of the Otter Blocks, which means that you can track your usage and pricing options from the OpenAI platform.
